Modern day struggles with wickedness and injustice in the war between God and Satan for the souls of men is not any different. We see the hand of God in these spiritual disruptions that have saved the human race on many occasions.
At some divine moment, God shows up and intervenes, usually long after we have given up and allowed the reality and visible appearance of things rule over the divine plan of God.
When God disrupts your life, it is only for your ultimate good, because He is good. You can reap the benefits of what seems like a disruption by allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you into changing your course through obedience to Him.

So now we are “Following Jesus.” We believe what He said, now we can do what He did! What does that look like? What is the fruit of doing what He did? Miracles, praying, healings, bringing hope and the good news to others - good things.
It also looks like suffering, imprisonment for the sake of the Gospel, and being hated, misunderstood, and rejected. Following Him looks like admitting when we are wrong and standing our ground when we know the truth. It looks like forgiving one another. It looks like being persecuted for righteousness and laying down our lives so that others can live and be saved. Doing what Jesus did can only happen if you know Who He is and Believe what He said!!!

Jesus said, "follow Me". What does that actually mean in practical spiritual terms? Lots of opinions, books, and schools of theology have tried to extract the essence and deeper meaning out of those two little words. It is really very simple, so simple a child can do it. Just believe what He said and do what He did.
For starters, we really do not believe that we are new creatures and that old things have passed away, and that there is now therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ. We are still trying to be good enough to follow Jesus. There is a difference between “following Him and trying to follow Him.

Fear and anxiety are on every side and yet Jesus tells us to be anxious for nothing.
How do we obey His command to be “anxious for nothing” when fear is on every hand?
God is our ever-present help in times of trouble. He is with us. He loves us therefore we have nothing to fear.
But do we really focus on love when every possible stream of information tries to stir up fear and trouble and bad news?

Demons gain control over us through incremental agreements. They do not just show up and jump into us. The permissions they need must come through the invitation of the host (us). Many of these permissions have already been given by our ancestors who have made deals with them and failed to close the doors that were opened through repentance and forgiveness. This makes the next generation an easy target for generational curses of sickness, evil, and calamity.

The lost book of Enoch gives us the backstory on the primal origin of the demons and lays a deeper foundation for the things we are told in the Scripture. Knowing our enemy is the first step to taking authority over the enemy. Jesus gave us the authority to deal with demons because they need to be dealt with.

Jesus laid out the overview for His disciples as to what they could expect in following Him. The course would be filled with obstacles. Just as the gospel was going to be resisted, they, as the carriers of the Gospel would also be falsely  accused as He had been and some would even die.
The key was to endure to the end. The Promise was that He would confess them before His Father in Heaven. We, as His disciples, are a part of the greatest thing on earth, and greater than anything the world has to offer, fame or riches, or the esteem of men. But it will be worth it all when we see Jesus and the celebration begins!

Jesus called the twelve disciples and gave them power to deal with disease and demons. The briefing also included an overview of the persecution, the strategy for bringing the message of the gospel, the types of resistance, the divisiveness of the Enemy and the need to endure to the end. It was not going to be easy.
They would kill Him and He wanted to prepare His disciples for what they would also experience. Family division, hostility, court appearances, and even death. Except for the advanced technology, nothing in the spiritual arena of war has changed much except now there in no where to hide. We still have the same power and the same message and the same dangers they had. We are all together in this with Jesus Christ Who is our Fearless Leader, King and Captain.

What was He thinking? Didn't He know all the bad things that were going to happen in carrying out His plan to save the world? Yes, He already knew the world would degenerate into darkness and depravity. He knew He would have to give some of them up to uncleanness. He knew about the war and that the church would be mixed with error and deception. He knew we would all be lost and need to be found.
None of this shocks Him. The message is still the same. His Word is still relevant and we still have the same opportunities to follow Him and experience His love and power as those who lived before us. He has given us the map, the Word of God. It will lead us out of this mess and into the fulness of His promises if we continue to follow Him.

Satan has mixed the Gospel of Jesus Christ with many other gospels. These counterfeit gospels mix law with grace to deceive us. His intention is to bring us back under the bondage of trying to be good enough to get to heaven. The gospel of grace and good news as brought to us by Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection is the only gospel endorsed by Heaven. It is the only one with power to save us and power to bring us righteousness, peace and joy. It is the only one that brings us true freedom from anxiety and fear. It is the only one that satisfies the demands of death mandated by sin. It is the only one that brings forth miracles, and healings. We surrender our mixed up versions of the Gospel to the Holy Spirit and return to walking in the Spirit.
