Is all of this conflict purposeful? Or is what we are experience merely the outcome of a primordial accident? Is all this well-ordered chaos so brilliantly orchestrated by the Wicked One to turn humankind against each other random or designed? Is there an Enemy who moves in and through the midst of us that conceals himself in the midst of us for the express purpose of destroying us and life as we know it?
The answer is yes! How else can we explain the madness of the murder and destruction we see ramping up all around us? Satan has temporary jurisdiction of this earth, but we are here appointed by God and authorized by him to act through the Holy Spirit to declare His Kingdom come! Jesus tells us that we shall know “them” whoever “they” are by their fruits. (Mt. 7:20) We must begin to discern the truth from the appearance of truth set up in the midst of us to deceive, if possible, even the very elect.
Jesus said, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand. The time is urgent and your decision to follow Jesus Christ matters for all eternity!

David prayed. David the anointed servant of God was in danger of being hunted down and killed by the most powerful man in the land, king Saul. The cry of David’s heart to feel overwhelmed and the fear of being found by his enemies were no different than those we face. His life was continually in danger. The snared set by those who sought to catch and kill him were real.  
 
And yet, every day, morning by morning, he rose up to encouraged himself in the Lord. He knew God’s faithfulness and kept his confidence in God’s favor. In these days of treachery and injustice, let us be like David. Let us rise in the morning to speak with God and hear His words.
The key to our peace and victory is not in being able to figure out what is going on but to know that the God who loves us is our defender and our righteousness. We can learn from Davis’s prayers, how hardship and danger can be defeated through meditation and trust in the LORD.
